Trying to figure out what happen to our newly tiled shower.  The grout looks wet only in a certain area of the shower floor.  We have been talking to the sealer company to try to figure out what happened.  Here is a picture of what it looks like.  Has anyone had his problem or have any recommendations? It is not mold/mildew.  This is something totally different.

Pork Nachos

This past weekend we made Pork Nachos, and they were really good:

They were so simple to make, we just layered the following:

Tortilla Chips - On the Border - Cantina Thins
Queso Cheese Dip - We used the kind in a plastic container that you can melt in the microwave.  I found it in the specialty cheese section of our grocery store.
Pork BBQ - Local BBQ Restaurant
Sweet BBQ Sauce - Local BBQ Restaurant
Pico De Gallo - I used the premade found at Ingles grocery store in the produce department.

Just layer it up and eat away.

Friday Favorites

Today I am linking up with Erika for....

One

My husband got this for Christmas and it was really fun to fly. The second day we had it, we thought it would be a great idea to fly it outside at dark on a windy day and this happened.

Yes, that is the quadcopter at the very top of the tree.  We are talking about 100 feet up.  There was no way we were getting down. On Tuesday, we walked outside and it was lying on the sidewalk.  We knew it was probably trash because it has been rained on many times during the 1.5 months it has been in the tree.  We changed out the battery, and IT WORKS!! It is in perfect shape.  We knew one day it would probably fall out of the tree, and thanks to the high winds this happened Monday night.  The bad part is we thought it was trash, so we have another on the way from Amazon that we had ordered.  Now we will have a spare if it gets stuck in the tree again.

Weekend Review - Charleston

This past weekend we went to Charleston for the SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Expedition).

SEWE 2014

We got there on Friday night and ate at Coast. This was probably by favorite meal while in Charleston.

The crab soup was probably the best crab soup I have ever had.

We shared the shrimp ceviche, hot crab dip, and fried oysters with fries and slaw. Everything we had was very good. I highly recommend this place.

On Saturday, we headed out from the hotel about 9am to catch the shuttle that would take us down to Brittlebank Park to explore that section of SEWE.  We were there right in time for the gates to open.  We walked around and looked at the different booths.  We stayed around for a bit to watch the dog jumping competition.  They had two different jumping pools.  One for vertical jumping and one for distance.  We watched the distance jumping.

After that we caught the bus and headed back to Marion Park to go to the Gaillard Center where they had a few booths set up to purchase items. There was everything from knives, bamboo fly rods, jewelry, and clothing.  Jack Hanna was doing a show, but there were so many people and the line was really long to get in that we skipped it.

We ate lunch at Smoke BBQ on King Street. We got their french fry appetizer which was really good.

I had a pork sandwich with potato salad.

Personally I thought the pork was good, but there was a little more fat in it for my liking.  My husband loved it though, and didn't mind the fat because it gave it more flavor.

We headed back to Marion Park to check out the booths. There were so many people that it was hard to see everything, so we didn't stay here long.  We walked down King Street to look in some of the shops.  Of course I had to make a stop at Pottery Barn, and bought some new pillows for my sofa.  Pottery Barn was having 20% off for Family and Friends weekend which is still applies to orders today as well if you are needing to order anything.

I am going to return these pillows that I shared on Friday.  I love them, but they are just not the right pillow for my sofa.

I ended up getting the following pillows. They didn't have the second one in stock, so I had to order it online.

I got the green pillow that is in the front.

And this one.....

I will share a picture of what they look like on my sofa once they arrive.

Later that night we had dinner at Hall's Chophouse.  This restaurant is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for the Charleston area.

We made the reservation about 3 weeks ago, and the only time they had available was 11pm.  It was really late to eat dinner for us, but it was good.  We started with crab soup which was good, but I preferred the crab soup at Coast more.  I had a filet and Cody had a ribeye.  We shared brussel sprouts and lobster mac and cheese.  The lobster mac and cheese was my favorite.  Overall it was really good and I am glad we ate here, but I would probably try somewhere else next time. I didn't take any pictures, but you can check out their website for some.

On Sunday, we stopped by Callie's Hot Little Biscuit for breakfast.  I tried there bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.  It was delicious.

There is a list of retailers on their website where you can buy their products.

We packed up the car and checked out from the hotel.  On the way out of town, we stopped by Leon's Oyster Shop.  We got the char-grilled oysters, hush puppies, and peel n eat shrimp.  It was good, but I think I have had better. The oysters were my favorite.  The hush puppies were a little gooey in the middle. The shrimp was good, but it was cold and I prefer my shrimp to be warm.

I forgot to take a picture of the oysters until I had already eaten the front oyster.

That was our trip to Charleston.  I wish we would have had more time to do other things. We had a great time though,

I hope you all had a great weekend and Valentine's Day!
