Weekend Review - Charleston
This past weekend we went to Charleston for the SEWE (Southeastern Wildlife Expedition).
We got there on Friday night and ate at Coast. This was probably by favorite meal while in Charleston.
The crab soup was probably the best crab soup I have ever had.
We shared the shrimp ceviche, hot crab dip, and fried oysters with fries and slaw. Everything we had was very good. I highly recommend this place.
On Saturday, we headed out from the hotel about 9am to catch the shuttle that would take us down to Brittlebank Park to explore that section of SEWE. We were there right in time for the gates to open. We walked around and looked at the different booths. We stayed around for a bit to watch the dog jumping competition. They had two different jumping pools. One for vertical jumping and one for distance. We watched the distance jumping.
After that we caught the bus and headed back to Marion Park to go to the Gaillard Center where they had a few booths set up to purchase items. There was everything from knives, bamboo fly rods, jewelry, and clothing. Jack Hanna was doing a show, but there were so many people and the line was really long to get in that we skipped it.

We ate lunch at Smoke BBQ on King Street. We got their french fry appetizer which was really good.
I had a pork sandwich with potato salad.
Personally I thought the pork was good, but there was a little more fat in it for my liking. My husband loved it though, and didn't mind the fat because it gave it more flavor.
We headed back to Marion Park to check out the booths. There were so many people that it was hard to see everything, so we didn't stay here long. We walked down King Street to look in some of the shops. Of course I had to make a stop at Pottery Barn, and bought some new pillows for my sofa. Pottery Barn was having 20% off for Family and Friends weekend which is still applies to orders today as well if you are needing to order anything.
I am going to return these pillows that I shared on Friday. I love them, but they are just not the right pillow for my sofa.

I ended up getting the following pillows. They didn't have the second one in stock, so I had to order it online.
I got the green pillow that is in the front.

And this one.....

I will share a picture of what they look like on my sofa once they arrive.

Later that night we had dinner at Hall's Chophouse. This restaurant is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for the Charleston area.

We made the reservation about 3 weeks ago, and the only time they had available was 11pm. It was really late to eat dinner for us, but it was good. We started with crab soup which was good, but I preferred the crab soup at Coast more. I had a filet and Cody had a ribeye. We shared brussel sprouts and lobster mac and cheese. The lobster mac and cheese was my favorite. Overall it was really good and I am glad we ate here, but I would probably try somewhere else next time. I didn't take any pictures, but you can check out their website for some.
On Sunday, we stopped by Callie's Hot Little Biscuit for breakfast. I tried there bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. It was delicious.
There is a list of retailers on their website where you can buy their products.
We packed up the car and checked out from the hotel. On the way out of town, we stopped by Leon's Oyster Shop. We got the char-grilled oysters, hush puppies, and peel n eat shrimp. It was good, but I think I have had better. The oysters were my favorite. The hush puppies were a little gooey in the middle. The shrimp was good, but it was cold and I prefer my shrimp to be warm.
I forgot to take a picture of the oysters until I had already eaten the front oyster.
That was our trip to Charleston. I wish we would have had more time to do other things. We had a great time though,
I hope you all had a great weekend and Valentine's Day!

Friday Favorites
If you like chocolate and peanut butter, then you will LOVE this!!
Two

Charles Stanley NASB Bible
My husband and I bought these for each other for Christmas. We actually ordered them from Family Christian Bookstore where we could use a 40% off coupon. It did take a little longer to get them because they were a special order item, but we love it. Charles Stanley has notes in the bible to help you understand and describe it better.

Three

Pottery Barn Pillow
I had a Pottery Barn gift card from Christmas, so I used part of it to buy two of these pillows for our living room. The green is actually velvet which I was not to sure about, but I really like them. Since we have a white couch, I am looking for a couple of solid color pillow to go with them to break up all the white.
Four

Gap Shirt
I had a Old Navy shirt like this, but it finally bit the dust. I think I might have to look into this Gap one to replace it.

Wreath
I love this wreath from Magnolia Market, but I am trying to convince myself to wait until one day when I actually get to visit the store to buy it. I am sure by that time, there will be something else I will want instead.
AND..... DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE GIVEAWAY

Weekend Review
This past weekend we headed to NC to celebrate my husbands birthday.
On Friday night, my sister-in-law and I went ice skating. I had not been in more than 10+ years, so I wasn't sure what bone I was going to break, but luckily that didn't happen. It was so much fun!

Saturday morning my husband and I went grouse hunting. We didn't see any birds, but the scenery was beautiful. We took Sue, our dog, and she had a great time.
We also passed by this cow. Isn't it cute?
Saturday night we headed to Grove Park Inn for the Prime Rib Buffet. They have 3 rooms full of food, and they pretty much have anything you want. My favorites were the potato salad, smoked trout, Chilean ribs, and banana foster. Sorry for the horrible cell phone pictures:
Here is the salad room:

Then on Sunday, it was time to return home!

Rodan + Fields Giveaway
Today I am featuring my friend, Kimberly, who is giving away THREE Rodan + Fields mini facials to three of my readers.

Kimberly started selling Rodan + Fields due to acne she had struggled with for years. She was taking an antibiotic to reduce the acne. She realized once she and her husband start trying to have a baby she would no longer be able to take the antibiotic, and needed to find a product that would feel the void. She tried Rodan+Fields, and fell in love!
Rodan + Fields are the same doctors that created Proactiv acne solution, and have now created a dermatology grade skin care line.
They have 4 regimens:
Unblemished - For acne and scars
Reverse - For sun damage and pigmentation
Soothe - For eczema and psoriasis
Redefine - For wrinkles and expression lines
All product comes with a 60 day empty bottle money back guarantee.
I have been using the Soothing regimen, and it has decreased the redness on my face. It also helped moisten my dry skin.

Soothe
I also love the daily body moisturizer.

Moisturizer
I heard the sunless tanner is amazing as well.
